If you think this is some standard sightseeing cruise, think again! The Sydney Jet Thrill Ride is one heart-pounding, adrenaline-pumping experience that zips you around Sydney Harbour at speeds of up to 50 miles per hour. Teens will love the fast pace and all the excitement.
It’s also got a sightseeing component, but it’s certainly much more exhilarating than a typical cruise. The captain will narrate the major sights and landmarks as you pass, so your teens will have fun and learn a little something. If nothing else, they’ll enjoy seeing the opulent houses of Sydney’s elite citizens that dot the shoreline.

WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo
There are few things as quintessentially Australian as the chance to get your photo taken with a koala. And that’s exactly what your teens will get when they pay a visit to the WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo. It’s the opportunity for that perfect Instagram that all their friends will love.
This fascinating animal attraction is filled with critters from around the world, but also has a particular focus on Australian wildlife, including wallabies, kangaroos, Tasmanian devils, and, of course, koalas. An especially popular exhibit is their Butterfly Tropics.

SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium
A good companion attraction to the WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo, the SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium is home to thousands of tropical fish, fascinating marine animals from the Great Barrier Reef, and so much more. In fact, here is where you’ll find the largest exhibit of Great Barrier Reef species in the entire world!
There are several themed exhibits you’ll walk through, including Jurassic Reef (featuring everyone’s favorite cephalopods), Shark Valley, Dugong Island, and Sydney Harbour (focusing on sea life that lives right next door). Your teens will be enthralled by the amazing aquatic life to be found at this attraction.

Madame Tussauds Sydney
If your teens love celebrity culture, spend way too much time listening to the same pop album, and know everything about their favorite movie star, then a visit to Madame Tussauds Sydney is in order. An excellent installation of the world-famous wax museum, this Darling Harbour mainstay is the perfect place for them to indulge their love of the rich and famous.
See dozens of display areas, ranging from figures of historical and cultural importance to today’s hottest movie and rock stars. From Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift to Angelina Jolie and Ryan Gosling, they’re all represented here. The Sydney Tower Eye with 4-D Cinema Experience
Another great opportunity for them to get those enviable Instagram shots is from the top of the Sydney Tower Eye. Located nearly 270 meters above ground, this massive observation deck offers unbeatable views of the glittering cityscape below, as well as the expansive Sydney Harbour and that beautiful blue-green water.
If it doesn’t stand out enough for its glistening gold façade, the Sydney Tower Eye is also remarkable for being the second tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere, which is no mean feat! The brief 4-D cinema pre-show is a handy introduction to the building and its history, too.

BlueBananas Bike Hire
If your teens want nothing more than to get out and enjoy the beautiful Sydney weather, then perhaps a bike ride is just the thing. With a full-day rental, they can pedal about as they please, exploring the streets of Sydney, local bike paths, or stunning beachfront trails.
It’s a nice way to keep them active, too, especially if they’re used to soccer practice or gymnastics at home and miss the exercise. You can join along with them and make it an entire day of family fun!

The Sydney Opera House Tour
While some teens may not have the interest or patience for a stuffy museum or this random important building, they’ll want to know all about the Sydney Opera House. One of the world’s most iconic and instantly recognizable buildings, this Sydney landmark is a must-see for visitors of every age.
With its distinctive sail-like exterior and gorgeous interior, the Sydney Opera House is truly a sight to behold. There are more opportunities for some really neat photos here, too. For many teens, the best part of vacation is the souvenir shopping. Give them the opportunity to bring something truly special home after a fun afternoon shopping out in Sydney. The most concentrated area for shopping is just east of Darling Harbour.
Try bringing them to the Queen Victoria Building, a modern shopping center nestled in a charming nineteenth-century structure. Or, the Westfield Sydney is filled with plenty of shops to explore. And while they probably can’t afford anything there, the Strand Arcade is another historic venue featuring upscale retail shops that’s worth a walk through. Last but not least, Paddington Markets will provide the best bang for your buck.
